Moscow is the most popular tourist destination among Russian cities. This is attested, in particular, by the latest Hotel Price Index report, based on hotel booking data from the Hotels.com websites worldwide for the first half of 2015. 17.3 million Russian and foreign citizens visited Moscow in 2014. An increase in tourist interest for Moscow is also testified by statistics on the number of guests at hotels and similar lodging facilities: in 2010, 4.1 million tourists visited the Russian capital, whilst in 2014 the number reached 5.5 million, i.e. 1.4 million more.

Greek tourism continued to rise during August. Available data from the country’s main airports show that international arrivals rose by +5% compared to the respective period in 2014, exceeding the 3 million arrivals mark. In the first 8 months of the year, arrivals were up by +6%, at 11.7 million arrivals overall.
Athens continued to perform exceptionally well, even in August, with a +23% rise compared to August 2014 and a +26% rise since the beginning of the year. Also impressive was the rise for the Cyclades, though on a smaller scale (+13%). Almost all destinations in the 8-month period January to August 2015 reported an increase except Rhodes, Kos, Herakleion(Crete) and Kalamata where the reported drops were -2%, -2%, -1% and -4% respectively.
