Built on an area of more than 3,000 hectares, Noor Ouarzazat includes four multi-technological solar power plants, developed in total respect of the international norms, particularly in terms of technology. The project is also associated with a research and development platform which covers more than 150 hectares.
Officially inaugurated this Thursday in Ouarzazate by King Mohammed VI, the first phase of Noor Ouarzazat “Noor I” was carried out under the independent power producer (IPP) scheme. This plant, which covers over 480 hectares, has a generating capacity of 160MW and is equipped with a thermal energy storage device allowing it to operate at full capacity for 3 hours without sunlight (after sunset or cloudy weather).

In addition, terrorism that has affected us in front continues to be one of our treats. It is true that we no longer recognize our country, Tunisia that had been admired by some and envied by others. It is also true that a democratic transition has its heavy price. But now is the time to stop the damage. Tunisia through its human resources is able to turn the tide. International tourist arrivals grew by 4.4% in 2015 to reach a total of 1,184 million in 2015, according to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. Some 50 million more tourists (overnight visitors) travelled to international destinations around the world last year as compared to 2014.
2015 marks the 6th consecutive year of above-average growth, with international arrivals increasing by 4% or more every year since the post-crisis year of 2010.
“International tourism reached new heights in 2015. The robust performance of the sector is contributing to economic growth and job creation in many parts of the world. It is thus critical for countries to promote policies that foster the continued growth of tourism, including travel facilitation, human resources development and sustainability” said UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai.
