The ABUJET president Maxim Minchev, Director General of the Bulgarian news agency, and the secretary of the association Plamen Starev, met H.E. Mrs. Latifa Akharbach, ambassador to Kingdom of Morocco in Sofia and the embassy counsellor – Mr. Mostapha Haltout. During the meeting, which passed off in a friendly atmosphere, Maxim and Plamen told about their visit in Morocco in the frame of the FIJET congress in October 2013. They presented to H.E. Akharbach the publishing policy of ABUJET and the aspiration of the organization to publish one book after every congress. Mrs. Akharbach highly appreciated the ABUJET editions. The two parties came to an agreement to work together over the publishing of a luxurious book about Morocco with materials, provided by ABUJET members. Providing a unique overview of tourism as a tool in peace building and reconciliation efforts, the International Handbook on Tourism and Peace was launched with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth and the Ministry of European and International Affairs of Austria (Vienna, Austria, 29 January 2014).
The Handbook offers a comprehensive collection of perspectives on tourism and peace from leading international specialists with topics ranging from sustainable development and conflict resolution to eco-tourism and heritage preservation and includes several case studies.
