Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands – One Tourism Brand 03 november 2013

The Vanilla Islands, as defined in August 2010 under the aegis of the Indian Ocean Commission, unifies the islands of Comoros, Mauritius, Madagascar, La Reunion, Seychelles, The Maldives and Mayotte under one tourism brand. This regional cooperation is set to increase connectivity and create new multi-destination products to attract more visitors to the Indian Ocean with a stronger and enhanced brand.

Plamen Starev took part in a very interesting infotrip, organised by FIJET-Romania. It was dedicated to greatist Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi. Journalists from 12 countries (USA, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czechia, Russia, Serbia, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Bulgaria and Spain) started their trip in Gorj County in Opatia province. They visited Polovragi Monastery and Monastery Camaraseasca. One of the pleasant surprises on the first day was the trip to the alpine highway Transalpina - the view was incredible. In Targu Jiu jpurnalist visited Civic Center and Public Garden. The visit started from The Bridge Jiu where they were fierce battles, where women and children participated, almost the entire population of the city in 1916, in the the First World War. Celebrated every year on 24 October, United Nations Day highlights the work and objectives of the United Nations and its specialized agencies all over the world. UNWTO is the only UN agency with its headquarters in Spain and took part in the official celebrations hosted in the Madrid Town Hall and chaired by the Mayor of Madrid, Ana Botella, and the Minster of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel García-Margallo. UN Day marks the anniversary of the UN Charter´s entry into force in 1945. With the ratification of this founding document, the United Nations was officially formed.
