Information from FIJET Croatia: UNFORMAL LUNCH HELD IN MUSEUM HOTEL PUNTIJAR
Fijet Croatia members always support and have spaces for proposals, ideas, discussions that extend beyond formal, structured meetings, Events and Annual Meetings. Our lunches or various forms of socializing are a flexible and candid environment where members align, brainstorm, exchange proposals and contacts without the constraints of a predefined agenda or governance procedures.We believe that some of the best ideas come from informal discussions, so we’re having a lunch where everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and suggestions.
Our unformal working lunch was a great way to conduct our association proposals for actvities and plans for 2026 /2027 in a refreshing and more informal setting.
It was an occassion to reminder our "Marco Polo Award Ceremony 2025" project success, exchange ideas, proposals, suggestions, work partnerships and connections for 2026 Awards. Members was informed about World Federation Plans of activities, decisions and proposals for FIjet Events and its documents and procedures. Of course, we were talking of the Fijet Croatia Plan of Activity and General Assembly planned for June 2026. We took a moment to recognize members efforts and contribution, to welcome our new team members to the family.
We enjoyed a Fijet lunch together, on 13 March. Our lunch was in the restaurant Hotel Puntijar, our Hotel and Restaurant Fijet Partner- a timeless Boutique Hotel & Museum, located in Gračani, an elite district of Zagreb, yet just a five-minute drive from the city center.
The interiors of the Hotel and Restaurant are adorned with carefully restored antique furniture, creating an original and immersive atmosphere. The walls of the hotel are decorated with over 700 paintings, photographs, and original newspaper articles, inviting each guest into a fascinating journey through the history of Zagreb and Croatia.
For 175 years, the Puntijar family has cherished a deep passion for hospitality, gastronomy, and tradition. Through the preparation of traditional Croatian dishes, our family has been dedicated to preserving and promoting Zagreb’s rich cultural heritage for generations. The earliest recorded mention of the Puntijar surname (Lovro Puntijar) dates back to 1581. Our family’s hospitality tradition began in 1838, with the opening of the first tavern in Gracani. Over the years, the family’s establishments were located across different parts of the city. In 1920, Gjuro Puntijar built a family home on Gracanska cesta, where, in 1987, the restaurant Stari Puntijar was opened.
No journey through history would be complete without a taste of tradition, as well as our lunch. Members admired again Gastronomy Museum with more than 3000 Gastronomy Books, 2000 Menues, 1000 Tourist Guides, every time when we are there and the exquisite dishes prepared from original historical recipes from the time of count Erdody ( 1733- 1806 ). We indulged in a culinary journey through time at Puntijar historic restaurant. Enjoyed traditional dishes inspired by the rich heritage of Hotel Puntijar, with locally sourced ingredients to create a menu that reflects the flavors of the region.
