The capital of Slovakia – Bratislava, was awarded by the prestigious Golden Apple award. The ceremony took place in the representative premises of the Mirror Hall of the Primate’s Palace. Delegation from the World Federation of Travel Journalists and Writers (FIJET), officials from the municipality, the Ministry of Transport and Construction, and Slovakian journalists took part in the event.
Plamen Starev, chairperson of the Golden Apple FIJET Committee bestowed the prize on Ľudmila Farkašovská, Deputy Mayor of Bratislava. The Group of African Ambassadors, Chiefs of Missions and Honorary Consuls in Bulgaria (Ambassador of Algeria, Ambassador of Egypt, Ambassador of Morocco, Ambassador of Nigeria (based in Bucharest), Ambassador of South Africa, Ambassador of Sudan, Charge d’Áffaires of Libya, the Honorary Consuls of Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Seychelles and Ghana) will mark Africa Day with a Conference titled ´Bulgaria – Africa 21st Century and beyond´ on 25 May 2017, at 11:00a.m in Sofia University ´St. Kliment Ohridski´, Aula Magna. The Conference is under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr. Rumen Radev.
The aim of the Conference is to explain opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Africa.

The first Golden Apple Award for 2017 is given to Kazan. President Tijani Haddad gave the Golden Apple to Metshin Ilsur Raisovich, City Mayor of Kazan for its achivement in development of tourism. The ceremony was taking place in Center of the family "Kazan", building symbolically built in shape of big pot (kazan on Russian).
