The Opatija Camellia Festival is an annual 7 days  festival from 4 to 10  April celebrating the City of Opatija  official flower the Camellia and its Asian origins , followed by performances, kids activities, vendors and lecturers activities, guided camellia tours, unique plant sales and more. Camellia Lovers Associtaion from  Opatija is the host of the festival is also host to the  a camellia bloom competition judged by size, color, form and condition. The camellia exhibition  is open to all  visitors and camellia lovers. Camellia is the symbol of love in Eastern culture. The reason is due to the inseparable parts of the flower, which represents everlasting love, faithfulness or devotion. FIJET EC Meeting in Istanbul 27 march 2022

First FIJET  Executive Meeting after two years Covid was held from 23 to 26 of  March. FIJET Turkey welcomed Executive Committee  members in Istanbul. President Tijani  Haddad gave words of thanks and appreciate to our colleagues from Turkey and those who helped to organize this meeting. Meeting was useful and productive. The goals (long- term and short-term) are set and the agenda included the directions and tasks, main decisions are done. Executive Committee was informed that two new associations are applying for admission to FIJET: Republic of Cameroon and Burkina Faso. FIJET of Republic of Cyprus reactivated its association. Tourism Grows 4% in 2021 but Remains Far Below Pre-Pandemic Levels 18 january 2022

Global tourism experienced a 4% upturn in 2021, compared to 2020 (415 million versus 400 million). However, international tourist arrivals (overnight visitors) were still 72% below the pre-pandemic year of 2019, according to preliminary estimates by UNWTO. This follows on from 2020, the worst year on record for tourism, when international arrivals decreased by 73%. The first 2022 issue of the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer indicates that rising rates of vaccination, combined with easing of travel restrictions due to increased cross-border coordination and protocols, have all helped release pent up demand. International tourism rebounded moderately during the second half of 2021, with international arrivals down 62% in both the third and fourth quarters compared to  pre-pandemic levels.
