Elitsa Lukova

Irina Asiova - Diamant

Irina Asiova - Diamant

While earning a Cultural Studies degree at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski," Irina Asiova simultaneously learned how to thrive in the journalism world as a trainee in the Duma newspaper (which was at that time under the rule of the legendary Stefan Prodev). Shortly thereafter, she had the good fortune of sharpening her journalistic sword amid the 24 hour newspaper cycle, a learning experience few of today's aspiring journalists are still able to achieve. In 12 years as a reporter and senior editor in the entertainment section of one of Bulgaria's most influential daily newspapers, Asiova interviewed almost every Hollywood star to land on Bulgarian soil, as well as a multitude of local celebrities. Her most recent artistic endeavors include her work for the hot monthly magazine BIOGRAPH, for which Irina tells her stories of cavorting with the rich and famous and her further adventures around the Globe.

At the moment Asiova divides her time between Bulgaria and the USA, where she's studied screenwriting for a year while also keeping tabs on the film industry (for now as an insider). As a member of the Association of Spanish speaking journalists in Bulgaria, Irina remains interested in the assorted political situations in Latin America, her favorite travel destination among them all.
